Can only Flemish people register and become a member of the VCL?


No, the VCL is open to anyone living in the Greater London Area, who has an interest in its mission or in Flemish culture.

What is the typical profile of a VCL member?


VCL members are typically professionals living in London interested in socialising and befriending other professionals sharing an affinity with Flanders and Belgium.

The profile of VCL members varies widely: we count financial professionals, architects, students, nurses, doctors, research assistants amongst our members. From its early days, the VCL managed to group members from different age groups and different backgrounds.

How many members does the VCL count?


Over the past few years, we have counted about 130 members on average.
Our general mailings reach in excess of 600 people in and around London.

Do I need to be a member of the VCL in order to participate in the activities?


Most activities are open to members and non-members, although there are member-only activities. Membership gives a discount to all activities.

Does the VCL has a political character or is it linked with a political party?


We are a politically, religiously and morally neutral organisation.
The VCL welcomes everyone who has an interest in its mission or in Flemish culture, regardless of nationality or mother tongue. Neverthelless, some activities will be held in Dutch.

What kind of activities are organised by VCL?


The activities organised by the VCL are highly diversified. They range from social get-togethers to economic, political, sportive and cultural activities.

Membership fee?


The annual membership fee is £25.

When do I need to renew my membership?


Your membership fee remains valid for a year from the date of payment (e.g. when you become a member on 1st of July, you will only need to renew your membership on the 1st of July of the next year).
