For a Belgian client I seek a general manager to its UK distribution company with 25 employees. Clients are concentrated in the greater London area that can be reached its South East warehouse. A majority of the products are supplied directly from the Belgian mother company and include amongst others Callebaut chocolate, which it sells ½ million kilos of annually.
The business is growing at double-digits and to continue this development the new general manager must preferably have inside knowledge about the bakery and/or patisserie industry. Proven management skills from a distribution environment with an entrepreneurial, flexible and hands-on attitude are crucial for success.
Responsibilities:
§ Profit and loss responsibility for the UK operation
§ Excellent people manager who will be the uniting force of the UK company
§ Ensure continuous growth in sales
§ Maintain and develop the customer base in the selected geographical area
§ Report directly to the Board of directors in Belgium
Requirements:
§ Familiar with the food industry, preferable bakery/patisserie
§ Committed and service minded attitude with focus on customer
§ Entrepreneurial and hands on attitude with commitment to the job
§ Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
§ Computer literate
